Comunicación Interpersonal

My favorite subject of this term is "Comunicación Interpersonal". The man who teach it is Osvaldo Corrales, a really, really good teacher. Actually, one of the most important reasons to loving that subject is the high cuality of Corrales.

Really, I dont know if I have learnt a lot of new knowless or if I´ve kept that knowless, but I can assure that, with Corrales, the subject has been really interesting.
"Comunicación Interpersonal" is a subject that rubs with the studies of psychology and I have to confess that psychology was a powerful alternative before choosing the journalism career.

Since I was a child I have been very interested in the relations between human beings and the different codes that we all handle. I love to observe the functioning of the interpersonal relations and comunication. Also, I enjoy trying to be empathic and understanding what happens in the head of other people when they do some actions. The subject "Comunicación Interpersonal" is about all of that and a lot of more.

Osvaldo Corrales, the teacher, comes to Santiago only the thursdays, because he is psychologist and director of the school of psychology of the University of Valparaiso. As a psychologist, he understand perfectly the diverse situations that we experience in the different human relations so, sometimes, his class is similar to a presentation of stand up comedy.

However, the evaluations are very demanding and difficult so, approving this subject implies a lot of effort and it talks very good about the student. Osvaldo Corrales is so great that some classmates has made a group in facebook to be fans of him.

Few years, a lot of dreams

In five years from now, if I already have finished the journalism career, I think I will be here, in the ICEI, studying Cine y Televisión.

Personally, I dont think I will be in a loving relationship. Actually, I `m not sure, but finding a girlfriend is not an important worry to me, while I`am studying. Sadly, I think that going out with a girl is an obstacle for the fulillment of my dreams. Because I have a lot of dreams and a lot of work to make those dreams real.

¿What do I expect from the future? I want to be outlined in the area of the literature, I am always thinking in a great idea and I hope, it will be taken to the television as a T.V. serie, I hope that, some day, I will create a cultural magazine and, also, I want to take part in the creation of a cinematographic production.

That is a little part of the group of hopes that I have to my future, so, in five years from now, I think I will be working to obtain it.

I am sure that in five years I will have a humble department in Santiago. Now, I am working in saving the enaugh money to get it, I mean, an important percentage of my savings is destined to can get that department because untill today, just in this last two years in wich I have been studying and living in Santiago, I have could experiment very bad living conditions and, If as a journalist, I have to work here in the capital city, the basic thing is to have my own department. Just a comfortable place to live.

By the way, for me, the most important in my future, is being able to see all my family happy, together and in ideal conditions. If, also, I can preserve my friendship, all could be perfect in five years from now.

Francisco Ortega

The area of the journalism I like is the cultural journalism. More exactly the literary and cinematographic critique.
Some years ago I listened about a chilean book of science fiction called "El número Kaifmann". This novel was about a man called Paul Kaifmann and about the situations that take him to an unexpected adventure that involves the Vatican, the Service of Intelligent of many countries and a lot of conspiracies and chilean mythology.

I read the review in the back of the book and I felt that I must to get it. It was really original, funny and joined all the qualities I value in a novel. Then, I saw the name of the author, he was Francisco Ortega, a journalist.

"¿A journalist?", I thought. ¿Are there journalist doing works as this one? I was about fifteen years old, I had not decided what I was going to study, but Francisco Ortega made me think in the journalism.

F. Ortega studied journalism and he has worked in mediums like El Mercurio, Virtualia, Radioactiva and Sobras.com. Also, he is director of the magazine Vive! of VTR company, he has been cinematographic critic and editor of the chilean Rolling Stone magazine, the publisher of Muy Interesante magazine and columnist of the Capital magazine.

With Alberto Fuguet, he wrote the script of Se Arrienda, the movie that was released in 2005 and, also, he wrote the script of the Las últimas noticias´s comic book: La historia de Chile en Cómic.

In 1994 Ortega published his first novel: 60 Kilómetros. His stories have appeared in anthologies like Disco Duro, Música Ligera and Años Luz: Mapa estelar de la ciencia-ficción en Chile.

Francisco Ortega uses the journalism as an hybrid trade. He is journalist, writer and scriptwriter. He is the most similar exponent of the journalist that I aspire to be.
