Comunicación Interpersonal

My favorite subject of this term is "Comunicación Interpersonal". The man who teach it is Osvaldo Corrales, a really, really good teacher. Actually, one of the most important reasons to loving that subject is the high cuality of Corrales.

Really, I dont know if I have learnt a lot of new knowless or if I´ve kept that knowless, but I can assure that, with Corrales, the subject has been really interesting.
"Comunicación Interpersonal" is a subject that rubs with the studies of psychology and I have to confess that psychology was a powerful alternative before choosing the journalism career.

Since I was a child I have been very interested in the relations between human beings and the different codes that we all handle. I love to observe the functioning of the interpersonal relations and comunication. Also, I enjoy trying to be empathic and understanding what happens in the head of other people when they do some actions. The subject "Comunicación Interpersonal" is about all of that and a lot of more.

Osvaldo Corrales, the teacher, comes to Santiago only the thursdays, because he is psychologist and director of the school of psychology of the University of Valparaiso. As a psychologist, he understand perfectly the diverse situations that we experience in the different human relations so, sometimes, his class is similar to a presentation of stand up comedy.

However, the evaluations are very demanding and difficult so, approving this subject implies a lot of effort and it talks very good about the student. Osvaldo Corrales is so great that some classmates has made a group in facebook to be fans of him.

Few years, a lot of dreams

In five years from now, if I already have finished the journalism career, I think I will be here, in the ICEI, studying Cine y Televisión.

Personally, I dont think I will be in a loving relationship. Actually, I `m not sure, but finding a girlfriend is not an important worry to me, while I`am studying. Sadly, I think that going out with a girl is an obstacle for the fulillment of my dreams. Because I have a lot of dreams and a lot of work to make those dreams real.

¿What do I expect from the future? I want to be outlined in the area of the literature, I am always thinking in a great idea and I hope, it will be taken to the television as a T.V. serie, I hope that, some day, I will create a cultural magazine and, also, I want to take part in the creation of a cinematographic production.

That is a little part of the group of hopes that I have to my future, so, in five years from now, I think I will be working to obtain it.

I am sure that in five years I will have a humble department in Santiago. Now, I am working in saving the enaugh money to get it, I mean, an important percentage of my savings is destined to can get that department because untill today, just in this last two years in wich I have been studying and living in Santiago, I have could experiment very bad living conditions and, If as a journalist, I have to work here in the capital city, the basic thing is to have my own department. Just a comfortable place to live.

By the way, for me, the most important in my future, is being able to see all my family happy, together and in ideal conditions. If, also, I can preserve my friendship, all could be perfect in five years from now.

Francisco Ortega

The area of the journalism I like is the cultural journalism. More exactly the literary and cinematographic critique.
Some years ago I listened about a chilean book of science fiction called "El número Kaifmann". This novel was about a man called Paul Kaifmann and about the situations that take him to an unexpected adventure that involves the Vatican, the Service of Intelligent of many countries and a lot of conspiracies and chilean mythology.

I read the review in the back of the book and I felt that I must to get it. It was really original, funny and joined all the qualities I value in a novel. Then, I saw the name of the author, he was Francisco Ortega, a journalist.

"¿A journalist?", I thought. ¿Are there journalist doing works as this one? I was about fifteen years old, I had not decided what I was going to study, but Francisco Ortega made me think in the journalism.

F. Ortega studied journalism and he has worked in mediums like El Mercurio, Virtualia, Radioactiva and Sobras.com. Also, he is director of the magazine Vive! of VTR company, he has been cinematographic critic and editor of the chilean Rolling Stone magazine, the publisher of Muy Interesante magazine and columnist of the Capital magazine.

With Alberto Fuguet, he wrote the script of Se Arrienda, the movie that was released in 2005 and, also, he wrote the script of the Las últimas noticias´s comic book: La historia de Chile en Cómic.

In 1994 Ortega published his first novel: 60 Kilómetros. His stories have appeared in anthologies like Disco Duro, Música Ligera and Años Luz: Mapa estelar de la ciencia-ficción en Chile.

Francisco Ortega uses the journalism as an hybrid trade. He is journalist, writer and scriptwriter. He is the most similar exponent of the journalist that I aspire to be.

Good days

Actually, I don´t have only one favorite photograph. Some important moments of my life have pictures, but the majority are just in my mind. They have been saved only by my memory. So, I will choose one of all the important photographs of my daily experiences, a part of my personal screenplay.
This photography was captured in a decisive moment of my life: the summer after I graduated from school. Those days I didn`t have important responsibilities, the only worry in my mind was a relevant matter, but, today, I can notice it wasn`t that important as I thought: choosing the career I was going to study.

In the picture I am with my mother and my sister. That was the first time my mother knew the amusements park in Santiago: "Fantasilandia". Santiago, in those days, was a strange city to me. I lived in Quilpué and, like the majority of my family I thought that I was going to study in the Universidad Católica de Valparaíso, it ment, I kept living with my parents, my two sisters and my little brother.
The smiles on our faces reflect the hapiness and the ease of a really good present and a future that wasn´t going to be like we thought.
Now, I study in that strange city, Santiago, and I have not had the chance of visiting better the region I really love. My region: Valparaíso.

Toward the best E-Zine: Tau Zero

One day, when I was 15 years old, I was watching on television a newscast made for young people. It was broadcasted by Canal 13 and it name was "6 P.M." In that chapter , the presenter, Soledad Onetto, invited a young girl who was becoming connoted in the world of Harry Potter`s fans clubs. Her name was Francisca Solar and that was the first time I knew about her.

That news talked about the amazing success of a book written by Francisca. Her work was specifically an "e-book", it means, a new kind of novel accessible only trough Internet. That book was called "Harry Potter y el Ocaso de los Altos Elfos" and it was an example of the new trend between the fan clubs: create own versions of the original productions; make fan´s movies, fan´s comics, and like Francisca, fan´s books.

Today, those fan´s books have been called "fan fictions" or "fanfics". Untill that day, I have never listened anything about "fanfics", but I loved (and I still love) the Harry Potter books, so I felt the need of knowing more about Francisca Solar and the "fanfictions".

Few minutes after the program had finished I found the page where Francisca had published her fanfic. Sadly, the page was collapsed of visitors so I couldn´t read what Francisca Solar had wrtitten. I couldn´t read that, but I preserved the hope to find more fanfics in Internet so I started a hard search that took me to a page, about Science Fiction, called UTOPIKA. In that page I met for the first time a style of interaction with other cybernauts: the forums.

I didn´t use to "sail along internet" so much, but since that day I can not stop taking part of discussions or debates in diverse forums and blogs.

One day I entered in UTOPIKA and I discovered that it had been removed because the admininistrators had embarked in a more ambitious project: make a virtual magazine or an "e-zine". The name of the magazine was Tau Zero and untill today I can´t stop checking it and taking part in it. It e-zine is about science fiction, fantasy, literature, movies, comics, science, tv-series, it means, all what I love. Tau Zero is my favourite page.

In Tau Zero I knew about a lot of more prolific writers. As prolific as Francisca Solar, but about a lot of more variety.

In this link you could find Tau Zero, the best chilean e-zine:

My Notebook: almost a therapy

My notebook. Definitively the notebook is my most loved piece of tecnology. In this electronic device I can practise the activities that I really enjoy. I can do wathever I want to do.

When I have freetime, the first thought that comes to my mind is "My notebook! Now I can loose my time doing all I was waiting for "

I love writing, reading, listening music, and watching movies.

I could look for a pen, a paper, a comfortable desk and start some writing: a story, an university´s work, anything. Then, I could choose any compact disc of my collection, go to my stereo, put the disc on the player and listen my favorite music. If I get bored doing that, I could take a great book and read for some hours and, finally, select my best movie, put this on the DVD player, look for a good seat and enjoy the movie. I can do all of that.

But, with a notebook I can listen music, watch movies, write tales, even play videogames. Al that in the same time.

With my notebbok i dont need any more. Is almost a therapy. I love my notebook.

Welcome!

You are reading this, so I can see there are three possible features in you. You belong to the same english class I am, you are interested in my personal life, or you are really, really idle. Actually, I hope your alternative is the number two because this blog will be like a memory box. In this space you are going to find the edited or eliminated scenes, alternative endings, deleted characters and the making of the script of my life.

A life that began nineteen years ago in Miraflores clinic, Viña del Mar.

My first years I lived in Cerro Alegre, Valparaíso, my best years in Quilpué and, now, I distribute my days between my loved fifth region and my studys in Ñuñoa, Santiago.
I enjoy writing things as this one and some texts a bit more interesting. Well, that´s what I should do like a student of Journalism.
I admire what compatriots like Jorge Baradit, Francisco Ortega, Alvaro Bisama, Francisca Solar S. Meier and a lot of more, have achieved.
If I´m not watching fiction, I am creating. When I don´t do it with my mind in the seat of any Transantiago´s bus, I am using the keyboard of my notebook.
I use to loose my time with "Condorito", Marvel, "El chavo del 8", "Big Bang Theory", "Harry Potter", Isaac Asimov and "Lost".
Sometimes I try to watch it in English to practise. I understand the importance of handling that language and that´s the reason I´m not writing all this in Spanish.

However, I love my own language and my priority is to perfect myself in it.
